Dada Collage
'Inspiration montage' segment
After struggling with the various underwhelming ideas I had created for my 'inspiration montage', I decided to link back to my the newly found knowledge of Dada collage art and further support the surrealist thought process our protagonist has been seen portraying through the first and second act of the short film. Certain shots that were taken for my initial poster shoot had carried out a different role, acting as the base for the rather abstract collection of diverse figures shown on the left. This collage includes a group of my favourite Jazz musicians, writer Joan Didion, several painters and potentially problematic political individuals who juxtapose in ideologies and political regimes. I wanted to include striking individuals such as Adolf Hitler and Joseph Stalin to further provoke the audience watching, something I abandoned due to the very insignificant reasoning I saw in the idea and its inability to work alongside the group of people I had already included (trying to not overcram the image with too much information).
